Career progression

As you journey along your career path, you may encounter bumps and crossroads. Whether it is wanting a complete change in career, to smash through a perceived glass ceiling or preparing for a job interview, having access to a coach during these times can mean the difference between getting that next step right or wrong. Coaching can help you look at your career to date, determine what are your priorities going forward and decide how best to achieve them in an impartial, yet challenging way so as to achieve the best result for you.

Women in work.jpg

Women in senior roles

In the vast majority of industries, we still do not see enough women in senior positions - as a result, it can be a lonely place if you are there, or seem unachievable if you are looking at opportunities. Coaching can help women in these situations find their voice, away from the day-to-day male dominated environment in which they often work. It can be highly beneficial to have the time in which to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the workplace in a confidential and supportive coaching environment - with a coach who has held senior roles within the banking industry.

Entrepreneur development

Entrepreneurs can often seem as though they have it all and yet being at the helm of a start-up can be a daunting and isolating experience. Coaching can help answer a whole host of questions such as how do I stay motivated, how can I manage my time more efficiently, how can I realise some of the benefits of running my own company, what skills do I need to acquire in order to develop the business further? Support - a sounding board - from an impartial outsider can often be invaluable to an entrepreneur looking to develop their business.

Confidence.jpg

Confidence building

Imposter syndrome - feeling that we’re not quite good enough and are going to be ‘found out’ at any moment - is increasingly common and can be a real hindrance in moving forward with your career. In this context, coaching can be a huge help in building confidence by, for example, helping you to recognise your achievements, stop internalising failure and focussing on your innate qualities. Having someone to speak to that can hold a mirror up to your concerns, achievements and aims can give you a real sense of self and confidence which then allows you to work at your very best.

Return to work.jpg

Return to work after a career break

Returning to the workplace after time away, whether that be parental leave, redundancy or due to other personal circumstances, can be a difficult transition. Whatever your situation, coaching can help with both practical next steps e.g. updating CVs, getting interview ready, finding out how to tap into a pre-existing network as well as help with the bigger questions of have my priorities changed, what are the options available to me? Returning to work can be challenging, however with the right preparation, it can be a fantastic next stage in life.

balance.jpg

Work life balance

Is it possible to achieve a work life balance? What does a work life balance look like to you and how can you achieve it? These are questions which people often ask and which coaching can help explore. However, increasingly, we talk of a ‘work life blend’ which removes the implication that we are trying to equally weigh work and life and instead we focus more on how work and life can be merged to achieve the best outcomes for all. Working out what your priorities and goals are across career and personal life can provide great insight into getting that right ‘blend’.
